Let's take a stroll down Imagination Lane...

I like mood boards. A lot.
I mean, who doesn't want to imagine what their space might look like?
Especially when the current space is gross, dark, and smelly?

(i got a little demo happy the other day)

I have been spending plenty of time researching what it will take to DIY the nitty gritty parts of a retro rv revamp (that's a mouthful). So exciting.... dry rot, water damage, plywood templates, fiberglass repair, caulking, sourcing parts for a crazy old vehicle. FUN TIMES!

So for the sake of my sanity, let's talk a stroll down Imagination Lane toward the future Lindy interior...

So pretty, right?

The Newest and Oldest Member of Our Family

I love my husband.
Always willing to start a daunting project with me.
A project where we have no idea what the heck we are doing.

For a few years we have tossed around the idea of getting a RV and this week craigslist (the devil that he is) gave us a project we couldn't refuse. So on a whim we drove out to the middle of nowhere in the desert, where we found a fixer-upper that could take us on adventures.  I can be impulsive, but it felt good and right to the hubby (kind of like when we drove out to Texas and bought a race car). So we held hands, looked in each others eyes and jumped into our next endeavor....(okay that sounds way cooler than carefully drove an almost 40 year old RV, with bad shocks back to our house).
Meet the newest and also the oldest member of our family...our 36 year old Dodge Lindy Motorhome.
Together, we are going to revamp the interior of this retro beauty, repair the exterior, overhaul the motor and take her our on the road starting this summer.

Here are some pictures of the inside to give you an idea what we are dealing with and to give us some "before" shots.  I love me a good before and after, don't you?

The cockpit...yes that is a bulging motor hump and yes i like innuendo

The hideaway bunk bed above the dinette.

The overcab sleep area. This area will require the most work because at some point the vent broke and water leaked in....no me gusta.

My pass thru closet to the sweet Styrofoam beer cooler. Priorities people gotta have em'. (hehe)

A look down the hallway to the bathroom. I should've taken pictures of the bathroom but i am still kinda scared of it. It does have a bathtub....that is the perfect size for toddlers.

The kitchen area has a quite a bit of counter space and a view.

The stovetop, oven, and fridge area

Dining banquette that converts into a bed with the bunk area above it.

And the caboose.
It has a tow hitch and a large cargo hold where the spare tire is. And a ladder to the rooftop veranda (a girl can dream).

Lindy's current state is "sad log cabin retro" but I know that with a lot of hard work she will become "fabulous boho chic glamper". That's right, glamping, which in my book means any camping where I don't have to sleep on the ground and I am not worried about rain seeping into my tent.
